Our Body Memories respond to all the other responses remembered in the infinite cycles of births and rebirths. In this, the Body is older than Time itself. We honor it for what it is and what it could be.
How does the Body hold Wholeness and Totalities, in the way Minds in fact perceive Parts and Combinations of Parts? Brain, Language, Psyche, Species, Culture, Knowledge Systems grew together in the Body.
The innerdance process holds a conversation taking place between Mind and Body, Body and Mind. Very often, it is shared of the experience, “the body acted on its own power, while my mind functioned as it normally does. It was as if there were two of them.” And then in some, such as in the words of Ash, “I was neither the mind nor the body.”
The Brain holds a key to understanding the relationship between the Body of the Mind and the Mind of the Body. It is the bridge. Whether they understand its workings or not, innerdance facilitators facilitate this bridge. Facilitators act as powerful neurotransmitters, sending signals to neurons and the endocrine glands, bringing psychic and bodily transformations about.
The way they touch people, the way music is played facilitates the Brain. Facilitators hold not iPads, music players, speakers, incense, yoga mats or essential oils. They touch people’s Brains, what was also, in Antiquity, regarded to be people’s Hearts (the ancient Greeks believed that the Heart was the actual Brain, which we seem to return to). The Heartbeat and Brainwaves, in many ways, vibrate to the same rhythm, speaking to each other from their respective domains.
The innerdance switches on-and-off buttons in the Brain, conditioned in childhood: A. Yes and No - Parents either withhold or allow their children to access emotional and material resources. B. Good and Bad - Children are initiated into religious and moral norms utilizing Shame and Guilt emotions. C. Rewards and Punishment - Through operant conditioning, children are conditioned into pleasure-seeking and pain-avoidance behaviour.
Logic and Common Sense, are internalisations set about by external conventions set by social norms. To undo states of Fear, the Body needs to learn to regain its Trust, a mechanism that is very much conditioned in biological reactive mechanisms.
The following video discusses "The Switch" in multiple systems, which people might find useful to understand the effects of the various intuitive tools used by experienced facilitators of the energy.
